Want to grow your own, but your garden is too small? Interested in renting an allotment? Do you live in the parish of Hermitage? Then let the Parish Council know. Write to our clerk Nicky Pierce, or email .
The Parish Council has a duty to 'take proper reasonable steps' to provide allotments if requested to do so by 6 or more parishoners. This does not mean it is guaranteed. Of course the Council hopes to set up allotments, but circumstances may prevent it. It is having difficulty finding available land. 18 allotments were setup in Woolhampton 5 years ago, at a cost of £12000. The equivalent cost for Hermitage now could be about £16000. The Council would have to find funding for this. If you have any comments about allotments please contact the Parish Clerk Ms. Nicky Pierce or email
He will need to know where you live as well as who you are.
